Chicago House operates a range of scattered-site housing programs. These programs are apartment units that are spread out in different areas of Chicago, and usually offer clients rental support, case management services, employment support, and/or other support services. Eligibility requirements for these programs vary and the programs are designed to meet the needs of homeless and chronically homeless individuals and families whom are also impacted by chronic medical issues.

Chicago House’s Scattered-Site Housing Program is also running an innovative, multi-year Special Project of National Significance, called Gaining Ground, which integrates housing and support services with employment services. The mission of Gaining Ground is to empower individuals to attain social and economic self-sufficiency. This program has found that combining supportive housing and employment training provides many of our clients with a continuum of tools to improve their income and housing security.
