Known for our dynamic treatment of trauma, violence and the effects of abusive behaviors, we at Center for Contextual Change base our therapeutic process on a unique treatment, The Collaborative Stage Model (CSM). Co-created by Mary Jo Barrett, MSW, the founder of the Center for Contextual Change, CSM is a solution-focused, three-stage model aimed at facilitating change through collaboration between the client and therapist; the client will experience positive shifts in their internal, relational, and environmental worlds.

Who We Are

We are a group of nationally recognized, highly trained psychotherapists specializing in trauma, domestic and family violence, child and adult sexual abuse, addiction, compulsion, self-injurious behavior, and severe emotional and behavioral disorders. We work with couples, children, families and communities, and through school, church and professional referrals, DCFS and non-profits, and court appointed treatment.

Our Commitment

We treat all clients, regardless of economic status, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, survivor history or offending behaviors. Same-sex relationships are challenged by a unique set of issues, created by our world interacting with our own personalities, vulnerabilities, and strengths. We are experts in working with GLBT couples to heal wounds, empower change, open communications and restore sex and love.
